The White Sox will begin Chicago's postseason doubleheader Tuesday with Game 1 of their wild-card series at 4 p.m., and the Cubs will open their series at 9 p.m., MLB announced Sunday.
The Sox will play the Astros in Houston, with the first two games of their series scheduled for 4 p.m. Likewise, Games 1 and 2 of the Cubs' series in San Diego are scheduled for 9 p.m.
Peacock, NBC's streaming service, and NBC Sports Network will carry Games 1 and 2 in both series. NBCSN is available on Xfinity, YouTube TV and Fubo. TV for Game 3 will be determined later.
Each series' broadcast teams will be announced later Sunday. Steve Stone told The Score that he will be an analyst for the Sox' series.
If Game 3 is necessary for either series, start times will depend on how many series are still alive. If all four series go the distance, Game 3 for the Sox and Cubs will start at the same time as Games 1 and 2 did.
If three series remain, the Sox' Game 3 will start at either 1 p.m. or 4 and the Cubs' will start at either 9 p.m. or 7. If two series remain, the Sox' third game will start at 1 p.m., and the Cubs' at either 7 p.m. or 8:30. If only the Sox and Cubs need Game 3, the will start at 1 p.m. and the Cubs at 7.
