Bay Area hoops will be in the national spotlight with the WNBA Finals tipping off Saturday at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
The best-of-seven series features the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream both competing for each respective franchise’s first title. Both teams are known for being defensive juggernauts.
Golden State’s deep playoff run has united the Bay Area, with fans attending Chase Center games expected to make “Ballhalla” a nightmare for the Dream.
The Valkyries swept the regular-season series against the Dream, winning two games at home and one on the road. Golden State recorded victories of 77-66 and 78-75 over Atlanta at Ballhalla in late June before beating the Dream 88-83 in the most recent meeting July 4.
Atlanta is looking for its first title, but have made three Finals trips ahead of this year’s series against Golden State.
The Valkyries made history in their inaugural season last year by qualifying for the 2025 WNBA Playoffs as the No. 8 seed with a 23–21 regular-season.
The Valkyries have home court due to being the higher seed. Golden State will host Games 1 and 2 at Ballhalla, along with the potential Games 5 and 7.
The series will air across NBC and USA Network. Games 1 and 4 will be on NBC Bay Area. All games can also be streamed on Peacock.
In addition to Peacock, there are other platforms where the Finals can be streamed. NBC broadcasts can also be seen on NBC.com and the NBC app, while USA Network broadcasts are available to watch on USANetwork.com and the USA Network app.
