Higher-than-normal temperatures were recorded in San Francisco on Saturday.
San Francisco rarely sees temperatures in the 80s, but on Saturday, some neighbors saw temperatures reach the 90s. These temperatures forced some people to re-think their outdoor plans.
One of those people was Jessica. She moved to the city and is part of a group that planned arts and crafts in Dolores Park.
“It reminds me of Fresno weather, and I do not like. It its hot,” she said. “At first, we didn’t know, because we planned this about a week ago and they were saying it was going to be hot, so we’re ‘Like oh we still gotta go because we have about 20 people coming today’.”
Near Crissy Field, the beach was a popular spot to catch a breeze from the shore.
The San Francisco Fire Department says emergency responders are also keeping an eye on the city. The department also reminded everyone to practice heat safety beyond staying hydrated and taking breaks.
“Sunscreen, make sure you are wearing sun protection even if you are in shaded locations. Bring a hat,” San Francisco Fire Department Captain Jonathan Baxter said.
