Two California Highway Patrol officers are recovering after a Tesla hit one of their parked patrol cars on Interstate 80 in Fairfield earlier this week.
CHP posted video online showing the crash, which happened Tuesday night west of Air Base Parkway.
The officers were responding to a deadly crash when the Tesla drove through the crash site and hit the parked patrol car.
The driver claimed he was asleep while using driver-assistance technology.
It is unknown whether the Tesla’s Full Self-Driving feature was active at the time of the collision.
